Assam Police Arrest Two Bangladeshi Nationals at Badarpur Railway Station
Guwahati, August 24 —Assam Police successfully intercepted and arrested two Bangladeshi nationals at Badarpur railway station as they attempted to illegally enter India.
The arrested individuals are:
- Masum Khan, 36, from Modelganj Police Station jurisdiction, Bangladesh.
- Sonia Akhtar, 15, from Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The duo had crossed the India-Bangladesh border through the Madhoppur (BD)-Agartala route and were heading to Bangalore when apprehended. Following their arrest, a coordinated effort with the Border Security Force (BSF) led to their deportation back to Bangladesh.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the arrests on X, highlighting the effective collaboration between Assam Police and BSF to ensure the enforcement of border security.
