Guwahati: In the ongoing war against drugs Assam Police seized a massive amount of heroin and Yaba tablets in Karbi Anglong District on Thursday.
Based on secret information, a team of the khatkhati police station along with Bokajan Police in a joint operation set up Naka checking and intercepted two trucks.
On checking, as many as 30 thousand of illicit yaba tablets was recovered from the truck bearing registration number NL 02 N 3758 and 55 soap cases containing 757.15 grams heroin from the Another truck bearing registration number MN 01 9912.
Moreover, the police officials further arrested one driver and two persons in connection with the seizure.
The arrestees has been identified as Islam Uddin (29), Md Manaobi (35) and the driver as Samir (33). All of them hailing From Manipur.
Further investigation underway.
