Assam Police Bolsters Vigilance for Safe Year-End Celebrations
Guwahati, 22nd December: As the year-end festivities approach, revelers and party enthusiasts must brace themselves for heightened vigilance from Assam Police, especially on December 31 and January 1. Reports indicate that the police force is deploying interceptor vehicles across the state on New Year’s night to effectively monitor every corner and mitigate incidents stemming from excessive intoxication.
In keeping with the annual tradition, Assam Police has issued stern warnings against driving under the influence of alcohol. To bolster efforts in maintaining order, Assam Police has augmented its interceptor fleet with the addition of 10 vehicles. Furthermore, 150 new and improved breath analyzers have been allocated for use in the upcoming days.
This stringent surveillance is slated to persist until the culmination of Bihu celebrations, as revealed by Assam Police. The objective is to ensure a festive period devoid of road rage incidents and accidents. The official handover of the new vehicles transpired today at the Assam Police Mess, orchestrated by Assam cabinet minister for Transport, Parimal Suklabaidya. Notable attendees included Director General of Police (DGP) Gyanendra Pratap Singh and other high-ranking police officials.
