Assam Police Bust Motorcycle Theft Racket, Six Arrested Across Multiple Districts
Guwahati: In a major breakthrough against organized vehicle theft, police have arrested six individuals involved in a motorcycle theft racket operating across multiple districts. The arrests were made under Matia PS Case No. 13/25, registered under Sections 303(2) and 317(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The accused have been identified as Fojnul Hoque (40) and Nobor Ali (34) from Matia, Goalpara; Moidul Islam (19) from Alopati, Barpeta; Ezar Ali (28) from Nagarbera, Kamrup; and two individuals from Meghalaya’s South Garo Hills, Sunstar A Sangma (26) and Rock Star M Sangma.
During the operation, police recovered three stolen motorcycles—a Bajaj Pulsar 125, a Bajaj Pulsar 150, and a Royal Enfield Meteor 350. Investigators are now probing further links to organized vehicle theft networks, while the arrested individuals have been remanded for legal proceedings.
