Assam Police Busts Counterfeit Land Documents Printing Operation in Guwahati

Guwahati, 23rd November: In a major breakthrough, the Assam Police successfully dismantled a sophisticated counterfeit land documents printing operation in Guwahati’s Kharghuli area. The raid uncovered a range of incriminating items, including volume registers, thumb impression books, fake official stamps, laptops, land records, and stamp papers, all instrumental in the production of fraudulent historical land records.

The operation was initiated after questioning an employee from the Sub-Registrar office in Guwahati and an advocate. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to social media to announce the significant development, stating that the police obtained crucial information leading to the raid. The investigation and search are currently ongoing, highlighting the authorities’ commitment to tackling fraudulent land transactions and maintaining the integrity of land records.
