Guwahati, 22nd September: A constable from the Assam Police, identified as Pankaj Das and stationed at Lengtisinga Police Station in Bongaigaon, was arrested on Friday on charges of alleged extortion.
The arrest came in response to a complaint lodged against the constable, accusing him of demanding money from a complainant.
