Assam Police Constable Missing in Mizoram During Election Duty
Northeast Desk, 6th November: A police constable from Assam, identified as Sabin Nath and deployed for election duty in Mizoram, has been reported missing since November 5. Sabin Nath was stationed at Middle School II, Ngopa Village, Saitual District, Mizoram, as part of his election duty.
Sabin Nath, bearing constable number 10 and hailing from the 9th Battalion, Assam Police, has been the subject of a search effort initiated by the Village Council and Joint NGOs. He was last seen on Monday morning, November 5th, at approximately 6:30 a.m.
Local leaders have disclosed that a group of 92 police personnel from the 9th Battalion Assam Police arrived in Ngopa village for election duty and were distributed across different camps. Sabin Nath was posted at Middle School II.
According to locals, Sabin Nath was known to have a drinking problem, as he had inquired about the availability of alcohol from a few individuals before his disappearance. He was reportedly wearing his police uniform when he went missing.
Authorities have been alerted, and information has been disseminated to all police stations and outposts in neighboring villages and the Ngopa area to aid in locating the missing police personnel.
