Assam Police Crackdown: Heroin Worth Rs 1 Crore Seized, Three Individuals Arrested

Guwahati, 17th February: In a relentless pursuit against narcotics and illegal drug trafficking, Assam Police conducted a successful operation on February 16, resulting in the seizure of five soap boxes containing a total of 70 grams of suspected heroin.

Acting on precise intelligence, the Assam Police launched a search operation in Mirza, located in the Kamrup district. The operation led to the discovery of the suspected heroin concealed within an Alto car. The street value of the seized heroin is estimated to be around Rs 1 crore.

During the raid, law enforcement apprehended three individuals identified as Drona Gogoi, Nayanjyoti Saikia, and Sunil Gogoi. Alongside the contraband items, the Alto vehicle used for transportation was also confiscated by the police.

Legal proceedings against the arrested individuals have been initiated as part of the ongoing crackdown on drug-related activities in the region. This operation underscores Assam Police’s unwavering commitment to combatting the scourge of drugs and ensuring the safety and security of the community.
