Assam Police Crackdown on Cyber Crime: Four Alleged Cyber Criminals Apprehended

Guwahati, 19th September: The Assam police have intensified their efforts to combat cybercrime, with Nagaon police recently apprehending four alleged cyber criminals and seizing numerous objectionable items from their possession.

A team from the Nagaon police conducted an operation on Monday night, acting on credible information about cybercrime activities in Kachua. During the operation, the police confiscated 11 mobile phones, 497 SIM cards, and two power banks. Additionally, they arrested the four individuals suspected of involvement in cybercrime.

Saddam Hussain, Abdul Rahman, Faizul Haque, and Umar Farooq are the four people who have been detained.

Reports indicate that these four suspects allegedly obtained one-time passwords (OTP) from unsuspecting victims and then fraudulently withdrew significant sums of money from their bank accounts.

Further investigations into the matter are currently underway.
