Guwahati: Udalguri Police apprehended one individual in Assam on Thursday for allegedly involved in human trafficking.
As per officials ,the accused sold two young girls in Delhi. The suspect was taken into custody by a police team at the Nonaipara Tea Estate in Paneri, in the state’s Udalguri district.
The accused have been identified as Sonu Mukta, officials stated. Reportedly, Mukta revealed shocking information about a lethal network of human traffickers in the state while being interrogated on video.
Additionally, the offender sold the two young females for Rs 10,000 police officials stated.
Assam Police have so far managed to save a total of 12 young girls. Additionally, up to eight human traffickers have currently been arrested throughout the state.
