Assam: Police Imposed Section 144 in Guwahati

Guwahati, 21 May: Guwahati police have issued prohibitory orders under section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code in an effort to preserve peace and tranquilly in the city. As a result, the police have outlawed large gatherings inside the city borders.

Guwahati Police Commissioner’s office issued the directive in an effort to handle the problems caused by crowding and probable unrest.
