Assam Police Intercepts and Expels Illegal Bangladeshi Infiltrators
Guwahati: In a significant operation near the Indo-Bangladesh border, Assam Police apprehended two illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators and ensured their immediate return across the border, underscoring the state’s vigilant approach to securing its international boundaries.
The individuals, identified as Md Zulmat Ali and Md Sakil, were intercepted during routine patrols conducted by Assam Police. The swift action received praise from Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who took to X to commend the effort, stating, “Maintaining strict vigil along the international border, @assampolice apprehended two illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators near the border and promptly pushed them back.”
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to reinforcing surveillance measures and maintaining the integrity of Assam’s borders. The operation reflects the state’s resolve to prevent unauthorized entries and ensure the safety and security of its territory.
