Assam Police Makes Two Major Drug Busts, Seizes Narcotics Worth Crores
Guwahati, 23rd July: In a series of significant operations, the Assam police achieved major breakthroughs by intercepting drug consignments and apprehending traffickers in two separate incidents.
In the first incident, during the early hours of Sunday, the Assam police intercepted a drug consignment that was en route from Mizoram to Cachar. The police apprehended Lilthlin Laine in connection with the case, and an astounding 37 containers filled with brown sugar and intoxicating tablets were seized from the smuggler.
At the same time, during a proactive anti-drug operation in Tinsukia, the police were successful in taking drugs from Hotel Midtown that were worth more than Rs 20 lakh. In connection with the event, two traffickers were detained, and a bike used in the unlawful activity was also seized.
These remarkable operations highlight the relentless efforts by the Assam police to combat drug trafficking and protect communities from the perils of narcotics.
Earlier, on July 22, the Assam police launched extensive operations across various parts of the state to address the prevailing drug menace. In one such operation led by the Nagaon police, four notorious smugglers, including a woman, were apprehended at Kachua.
Reports indicate that the police confiscated a drug-filled container along with 70 other empty containers from the smugglers. Additionally, the police recovered one motorcycle from their possession.
These recent successes demonstrate the commitment of the Assam police to clamp down on drug-related activities and maintain law and order in the state. As the police intensify their efforts against drug trafficking, the public’s cooperation and vigilance play a vital role in ensuring a drug-free and safe environment for all residents.
