Assam Police Personnel To Undergo BMI Test From August 16

Guwahati, 16th May: The Assam Police is set to conduct its second Body Mass Index (BMI) assessment on August 16, 2024. Director General of Police GP Singh announced the upcoming test, stating it marks a year since the initiation of the annual BMI examination for @assampolice personnel. Encouraged by the progress seen in the first round, preparations are underway for the 2024 BMI evaluation, scheduled to commence on August 16th, 2024.

Back on May 16, 2023, the Assam Police had opted for professional BMI recording for all its personnel, including IPS/APS officers and DEF/Bn/Organisations members. Notably, individuals categorized as obese (BMI 30+) were granted a three-month window to work on weight reduction following last year’s tests.

During the previous round held on August 16, tests were conducted across 36 locations in Assam, with DGP Singh leading the way as the first officer to undergo the evaluation.
