Assam Police Pushes Back Several Bangladeshi Nationals Amid Heightened Border Vigilance

Guwahati, 12th September: In a continued effort to curb illegal infiltration, Assam Police successfully intercepted and deported multiple Bangladeshi nationals trying to cross the Indo-Bangladesh border in Karimganj district. On September 9, officers apprehended two individuals, identified as Shahadat Hussain and Priyanka Gain, pushing them back across the border after receiving credible intelligence on their movements.

In a similar operation earlier, three Bangladeshi nationals—Sumon Hussain, Suhana Khatun, and Eva Aktar—were also identified and deported. This followed another incident last week, where five infiltrators, including Afroja Jahirul Sardar and Lakhipur Akhtar, were apprehended and pushed back by Karimganj police during a late-night operation on August 28.

The Assam Police has intensified its border vigil and continues to coordinate operations to prevent any illegal entry from Bangladesh. An investigation is currently underway to examine further details of these infiltration attempts.
