The accused identified as Ajijur Rahman, a resident of Dhing in the Nagaon district of Assam.

According to reports, Rahman confessed before the CID office today to make a confession in front of investigators.

Rahman was appointed to the Assam Police by submitting fraudulent paperwork on September 23.

Rahman was arrested shortly after he confessed by the Assam Police’s CID division, which was looking into the case.

With this arrest, the total number of people detained in connection with the case now stands at 22.

Additionally, the 21 accused who the CID had earlier taken into custody had their period of custody end today.

All 21 accused were then presented before the court. It may be noted that several accused in the case, for submitting fake documents during the recruitment process of Assam Police, are still on the run.
