Assam Police Recruitment Fraud: 22 Arrested Till Now for Forging Docs

Guwahati: The Crime Investigation Department (CID) has arrested as many as 22 people in relation to fraudulent documents submitted during the Assam Police Recruitment Procedure.

CID arrested five people for allegedly generating forged documents on Saturday.

The accused persons have been identified as Rupam Bora, Deepjyoti Baruah, Raju Thakur, Mirza Ghalib and Nitumoni Kalita.

Nitumoni Kalita was running for the position of Constable while the other candidates were owners of computer training facilities.

The Chief Judicial Magistrate Court will see the five defendants today.

At least 17 people were arrested in connection with the investigation up to Friday and they will be held in police custody until October 26.
