Guwahati: At least 48 children including 4 women have been rescued by Assam Police from an interstate child trafficking racket based in West Bengal.
According to reports, children’s and women have also been rescued and brought to Assam on Thursday.
It is learned that the children were forced into child labour and were trafficked from Assam to West Bengal.
Presently, the rescued children were shifted to Fatasil Child Welfare Committee in Guwahati.
Further investigation is in process.
