Assam Police Seize Counterfeit Gold in Bongaigaon, Primary Suspect in Custody

Guwahati, 27th May: In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, police have seized three counterfeit gold pieces in Kokila North Para, Bongaigaon. The seizure took place at the residence of Nazrul Islam, who was detained along with his son.

Following initial interrogations, authorities released Nazrul Islam’s son, concluding he was not involved in the fake gold operation. However, Nazrul Islam remains in custody as the primary suspect in the counterfeit gold trade. Police have launched an extensive investigation to uncover the full scope of the illicit activities and identify any potential accomplices.
