Assam Police Seize Drugs Worth Rs 18 Crore in Two Operations
Guwahati, 3rd May: In a significant success in the ongoing battle against narcotics, Assam Police conducted two separate operations on May 2, resulting in the seizure of drugs valued at Rs 18 crore.
Cachar Police recovered 572 grams of heroin and apprehended one suspect, while Golaghat Police seized 3 kilograms of heroin and arrested four individuals in connection with the case.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter to commend the efforts of the police authorities, praising their dedication in combating the drug menace. “Well done Team Assam! #AssamAgainstDrugs,” CM Sarma wrote in his tweet.
These operations mark a major milestone in Assam’s anti-narcotics efforts, underscoring the commitment of law enforcement agencies to curb drug trafficking and protect the state’s citizens from the harmful effects of illicit substances.
