Assam Police Seize Heroin Worth Rs 2 Crore in Mankachar; One held

Mankachar: In a significant anti-drug operation, police seized heroin worth Rs 2 crore in Assam’s Mankachar town and arrested one drug peddler.

The heroin was reportedly sourced from Manipur and stored in the house of a man named Noor Islam.

Acting on a tip-off, the joint operation was led by Additional Superintendent of Police Pratap Das, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ansal Sharma, Mankachar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Deepak Bargayari, and Kharuabandha Police Station In-Charge Gitartha Chaudhary.

During the raid, a woman identified as Mulukjan Nessa was detained, while Noor Islam managed to evade capture.

Investigations are ongoing to track down the absconding suspect and dismantle the drug network.
