Assam Police Seize Heroin Worth Rs 7 Crore in Major Drug Bust in Bokajan

Assam: In a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking, Bokajan Police in Assam seized heroin worth an estimated Rs 7 crore during two consecutive operations along National Highway 39 near Sukhanjan under the Bokajan Police Station.

The operations, based on reliable intelligence, resulted in the confiscation of 745.74 grams of heroin, which was cleverly packed into 70 soap cases.

The first operation took place during a routine vehicle search, where heroin was discovered in a Scorpio vehicle.

Following this, authorities intensified their efforts overnight, leading to another major find. Heroin was recovered from a truck, with registration number AS-01-RC-0882, which was traveling from Dimapur to Golaghat.

The truck driver, identified as Ramzan Ali from Dhing, has been detained for further questioning.

The police are continuing their investigation as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle drug trafficking networks in the region and prevent the distribution of illicit substances.
