Assam Police Seize Huge Cache of Ammunition in Karbi Anglong Crackdown

Northeast Desk, 23rd December: In a major move against illegal arms, Assam Police conducted a successful operation in the Karbi Anglong district, leading to the recovery of a substantial amount of ammunition on December 22. Acting on intelligence inputs, authorities found two individuals in possession of six magazines and a large quantity of ammunition in the Bokajan area.

The precise origin of these arms is yet to be determined.

The seized items included 150 live ammunition rounds for AK series rifles and Insas rifles, along with six magazines and various other items. This operation is part of Assam Police’s ongoing efforts to combat insurgency and maintain law and order in the state, with 36 dedicated battalions involved in such tasks.

As the investigation unfolds, the seizure represents a significant setback for any militant outfits operating in the region, showcasing Assam Police’s vigilance in curbing the influx of illegal arms within the state.
