Assam Police seized 10 vials of drugs & vehicles in Bijni, one held

Guwahati, 20th January: In a late-night operation on January 19, the Assam Police successfully confiscated 10 vials of drugs, totaling 28 grams, in Bijni under the Chirang district.

Acting on a credible tip-off, the Bijni police, under the leadership of station in-charge Ritul Moni Das and Panka Dal, conducted a raid on a Hyundai Santro car with the registration number AS 06D 5459, located in Bhandra. The operation resulted in the seizure of vials containing illicit substances.

During the intervention, law enforcement authorities apprehended a drug peddler, identified as Shafiul Islam. He is a resident of Bhandara, situated under the jurisdiction of the Manikpur police station in the Bongaigaon district.

Following the arrest, both the suspected drug trafficker and the confiscated vehicle, along with the seized drugs, were transported to the Bijni police station. This was done to facilitate further investigation and initiate legal proceedings against the detained individual. The successful operation signifies the police’s commitment to combating drug-related activities in the region.
