Guwahati: Assam Police seized about 17kgs of suspected Cannabis (ganja) and two women have been arrested from Tinsukia District of Assam.
According to reports, the seizure took place on Saturday by the Tinsukia police based on intelligence input.
The arrested identified as Anima Moran and Rupamoni Moran were arrested by the police based on specific inputs.
The police officials further recovered illicit liquor and psychotropic tablets from their possession.
Sharing the news on Facebook, the Tinsukia police wrote, “Based on input, SDPO Margherita along with OC Bordumsa PS and staff apprehended Smt. Anima Moran and Smt. Rupamoni Moran recovered around 17 kgs of cannabis, illicit liquor, and psychotropic tablets from them. #SayNoToDrugs Assam Police, DGPAssamPolice, GP Singh.”
