Guwahati: A sizable amount of urea fertilizer was seized by authorities in Hailakandi district of Assam on Thursday night.
In response to specific information, local law enforcement officers stopped a truck with the licence plate “AS 25B 2671” and discovered 340 bags of urea hidden beneath bales of hay.
According to the police, the urea consignment was being shipped from Mizoram to Salsapora in Hailakandi.
The cost of the recovered urea is reportedly worth lakhs .
Meanwhile , Sami Uddin Laskar the truck driver has been arrested in connection with the seizure.
Further investigation is on to unearth linkages.
