Assam Police Seizes Drugs Worth Rs 15.5 Crore in Major Operation in Cachar

Guwahati, 21st September: In a significant victory against drug trafficking, Assam Police made a major seizure of illicit substances on September 20 in Banskandi, Cachar. Acting on reliable intelligence, authorities intercepted a truck, uncovering 18,000 YABA tablets and 2 kilograms of crystalline methamphetamine. The seized drugs are estimated to have a market value of Rs 15.5 crore.

Two individuals were arrested during the operation, which highlights Assam Police’s ongoing efforts to combat the growing drug menace in the state. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commended the police’s swift action, acknowledging their dedication on social media platform X. “Good job @assampolice,” he remarked, praising the operation’s success.

This drug bust marks another chapter in Assam’s determined battle against narcotics, with law enforcement agencies ramping up efforts to curb trafficking across the region.
