Guwahati, 12th March: In a significant operation, alert troops of the Assam Police team in Chudaibari, Karimganj, seized intoxicating cough syrup worth Rs 1 crore during a routine Naka checking on March 12.
A total of 9,700 bottles of ESKUF and PHENSEDYL were discovered packed in 193 cartons aboard a truck during the check at the Assam-Tripura Border Churaibari Police checkpoint (WB/47/2103).
The driver of the truck, Sadananda Roy, along with another individual named Sagnoy Roy, were arrested at the scene of the operation.
Reports indicate that both arrested individuals are originally from West Bengal.
