Assam Police shoots child molester in Nagaon

Guwahati: The Assam Police shot a person accused of molesting a 3-year-old minor in Nagaon district on Wednesday night as he tried to escape from the police custody.

The accused identified as Idris Ali who is a resident of Puthimari village in Dhing subdivision.

Ali was arrested by the Batadraba Police Station (Outpost) on April 20 after with the minor’s family lodged a complaint against him.

As per the sources of MyNewsNE, Ali tried to escape from custody when he was being taken to a hospital for a medical checkup, after which he was shot by the police.

It needs to be mentioned, Ali had reportedly committed the heinous crime on April 19.

Meanwhile, he is currently being treated at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

Moreover, a heated situation erupted, with locals of Batadraba have demanded harsh punishment for the accused.
