Assam Police STF Arrests 8 Suspected Jihadis in Kokrajhar and Dhubri
Assam: In a major breakthrough, the Assam Police’s Special Task Force (STF) successfully apprehended eight individuals suspected of having links to jihadi organizations.
The operation, conducted in the districts of Kokrajhar and Dhubri, targeted several areas including Jaipur, Khachipara, Bhotgaon, and Bhadiyaguri.
Five individuals from Kokrajhar were arrested by the STF and are being transported to Guwahati for further interrogation. The arrested individuals have been identified as Hakim Ali Mondal, Habijur Ali, Majnu Sheikh, Amidul Sheikh, Nur Islam and Mujibur Rahman.
In a separate operation conducted overnight in Dhubri, two more individuals, Enamul Haque and Abdul Karim, were taken into custody. Haque is a resident of Hatipota, while Karim hails from Khudigaon in Bilasipara.
The Assam Police are currently investigating the extent of the suspects’ involvement in jihadi activities and their potential connections to larger networks. Further details are awaited as the investigation progresses.
