This latest incident follows a similar event on September 23, when the Assam Police apprehended four Bangladeshi nationals at the Indo-Bangladesh border in Karimganj. The individuals, identified as Sohil Hawladar, Shah Alam, Sourab Hawladar, and Md Kawsar, were taken into custody under the state’s enhanced security measures.

Chief Minister Sarma commended these actions, emphasizing, “In yet another successful pushback operation of illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators, Assam Police managed to apprehend and send back to Bangladesh individuals through the Karimganj border.”

Additionally, on September 22, joint operations between Assam Police and the Border Security Force (BSF) led to the apprehension of two other illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators in separate instances. These efforts highlight the commitment of security forces in Assam to monitor and secure the international border, reinforcing a strict stance against illegal infiltration activities.
