Assam: Police Vehicle Collides with Dumper Near Lokhra, Guwahati

Guwahati, 18th March: In a harrowing incident near Lokhra, Guwahati, a police vehicle collided with a moving dumper, resulting in significant destruction. The mishap narrowly spared the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dharamtul Police Station, who was en route from Jalukbari to Khanapara at the time of the accident.

The ill-fated police vehicle, identified by its registration number AS 30 9096, crashed into a dumper bearing registration number AS 25 FC 2229. Both vehicles were traveling in the same direction, and the impact of the collision was severe, causing extensive damage to the front portion of the police vehicle, rendering it nearly unrecognizable.

Eyewitnesses described the horrific scene unfolding on the flyover in Lokhra, where the accident occurred. Among the casualties were the seriously injured OC and six accompanying policemen, who were promptly rushed to the hospital by the Basishtha traffic police for urgent medical attention.

The prompt response from the authorities ensured that the police team received swift first aid, mitigating the immediate consequences of the tragic event.
