Assam: Powerful Storm Wreaks Havoc in Karimganj
Guwahati, 6th May: Assam’s Karimganj was struck by a powerful storm accompanied by torrential rains on May 6, leaving a path of destruction in its wake.
The impact of the storm was particularly severe at the Karimganj railway station, where the forceful winds tore away the tin sheets covering the platform fans. Additionally, in the Sharisha locality, several trees were uprooted by the raging winds, obstructing the national highway and posing dangers to motorists.
In response to the chaos, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) sprang into action, swiftly mobilizing their personnel to the affected areas. With precision and determination, the SDRF teams worked tirelessly to clear debris and fallen trees, reopening vital thoroughfares and ensuring the safety of residents and travelers alike.
The prompt response of the SDRF has been crucial in mitigating the impact of the storm and facilitating relief efforts in Karimganj. As cleanup operations continue, authorities urge residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions in the aftermath of the natural disaster.
