Assam Pradesh Mahila Cong Files FIR Against BJP Leader
Guwahati: The Assam Pradesh Mahila Congress lodged an FIR against Ritu Bora, the Assam BJP’s co-convenor on Sunday for disparaging Congresswoman Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
According to the FIR filed by the Mahila Congress, Priyanka Gandhi took part in a protest on August 5 organised by the All-India Congress Committee (AICC) against the rise in prices of necessities, the unauthorised imposition of GST on food grains, as well as other issues like the non-recruitment of unemployed people.
However, Ritu Bora transposed the congress leader’s voice during the protest into that of a transgender person, severely harming the congress leader’s reputation. In the FIR, the Assam Mahila Congress said that the accused had committed a serious crime by performing the act and that as a result, they were calling for an immediate investigation and the arrest of the offender.
The FIR was lodged at the Dispur Police Station in Guwahati.
