Assam: Pragjyotishpur LitFest 2024 Concludes, Celebrating Regional Heritage
Assam: The second edition of the Pragjyotishpur Literature Festival (LitFest) 2024 successfully concluded at the Madhavdev International Auditorium, Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra.
The three-day event, themed ‘In Search of Roots’, brought together a diverse group of authors, scholars, and cultural enthusiasts to delve into the rich literary and cultural heritage of the region.
Nepali writer Bidyapati Dahal and Assamese author Suprakash Bhuyan were honored with the Pragjyotishpur LitFest Awards, recognizing their significant contributions to literature.
The festival also featured a series of insightful discussions on regional identity, literature, heritage preservation, and environmental conservation.
Renowned academics and experts, including Dr. Amarjyoti Choudhury, Prof. Gajendra Adhikari, and Dr. Prashanta Chakrabarty, shared their perspectives on the historical and contemporary significance of the region.
The event also showcased the vibrant cultural heritage of the Northeast, with performances of devotional songs, mime acts, and folk music. The festival’s organizers, the Sankardev Education and Research Foundation (SERF), expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming response and pledged to continue fostering intellectual and cultural exchange through future editions of the Pragjyotishpur LitFest.
