Assam: Preparations Underway for 10th International Yoga Day in Tezpur
Guwahati, 19th May: Tezpur is set to host the state-level central program for the 10th International Yoga Day on June 21. A preparatory meeting chaired by Sonitpur District Commissioner Deba Kumar Mishra was held at the District Commissioner’s Office in Tezpur on Saturday to ensure the successful organization of the event.
Commissioner Mishra directed all attendees to meticulously plan and make the necessary arrangements to commemorate the day fittingly. Key discussion points included selecting and preparing a suitable venue, training yoga instructors, and ensuring broad participation from students, athletes, yoga practitioners, leading citizens, and the general public.
The meeting saw the attendance of notable district officials, including District Development Commissioner Gaya Prasad Agarwal, CEO Zilla Parishad Karabi Saikia Karan, additional district commissioners, the Circle Officer of Tezpur Revenue Circle, all assistant commissioners, the Joint Director of Health Services, the Inspector of Schools, the District Sports Officer, and representatives from the Tezpur District Sports Association, among others.
The collaborative efforts of these officials aim to ensure that the 10th International Yoga Day is celebrated with grandeur, reflecting the spirit of health and wellness associated with yoga.
