Assam Prepares for PM Modi’s Visit: CM Sarma Conducts Midnight Inspection
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma conducted a midnight inspection at the Khanapara Veterinary Field ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s arrival in Guwahati. With only a few hours remaining for the Prime Minister’s visit, CM Sarma reviewed the final preparations for the upcoming events, ‘Jhumoir Binandini’ and Advantage Assam 2.0.
CM Sarma also visited the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport late on Sunday night to oversee the arrangements. Taking to social media platform ‘X’, CM Sarma expressed his excitement, stating that the next few hours would be crucial before the Prime Minister’s arrival. He also mentioned that the midnight inspection was a final check ahead of the grand events scheduled for the day.
The highlight of PM Modi’s visit will be witnessing the largest-ever Jhumur performance in history, featuring over 8,000 dancers at Guwahati’s Sarusajai Stadium. The event, ‘Jhumoir Binandini’, is organized to commemorate 200 years of Assam’s tea industry and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the tea garden community. With the Prime Minister in attendance, security measures have been significantly heightened. The event promises to be a spectacular fusion of Assamese cultural heritage and contemporary artistic expression.
