Assam: Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council Polls Heat Up as Key Candidate Launches Campaign
Guwahati: With the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council elections slated for April 2nd, the political atmosphere in the region has reached a fever pitch, witnessing a surge in rallies and campaign activities.
Sumit Rabha, the joint candidate of the Rabha Hasong Joint Struggle Committee (RHJM) and the NDA for the 27th Council Constituency, officially commenced his election campaign in Boko. The launch was highlighted by the opening of his campaign office at Boko Dakuwa Para, accompanied by a massive procession involving thousands of his supporters. The procession began at the Rabha Hasong Inspection Bungalow, traversed the main road, and concluded at the newly established campaign headquarters.
The inauguration of the campaign office was conducted by Dr. Subhash Rabha, the General Secretary of the All Rabha Students’ Union. Following the ceremonial opening, a public meeting was convened, where crucial issues and campaign strategies were discussed in detail.
In a related development, the Rabha Hasong Joint Movement Committee (RHJMC) has conveyed their satisfaction regarding the withdrawal of nominations by two Congress candidates, a move that is anticipated to have a notable impact on the dynamics of the upcoming elections.
