Assam: Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra Hoarding Vandalized in Morigaon

Guwahati, 22nd January: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi faced a setback during his ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ as miscreants vandalized and smeared his hoarding with paint in Morigaon district of Assam.

The incident disrupted Gandhi’s yatra, intended to connect with the people, as unexpected disruptions unfolded.

The Morigaon district administration, citing intelligence inputs, took precautionary measures to maintain peace and tranquility.

District Commissioner Devashis Sarma expressed concerns about potential miscreants taking advantage of concurrent events—the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and the Ram Lalla Pran Pratistha.

In a letter to Congress functionaries, Sarma highlighted the apprehension of miscreants disrupting peace and requested refraining from the proposed street-corner meeting and padyatra to ensure Rahul Gandhi’s safety, considering he is a ‘Z plus’ protectee. The district administration prioritized averting law and order disruptions.
