Assam: Railway Police Seize Fake Currency Worth Over 3 Lakh Rupees in Bongaigaon Train Raid

Guwahati, 30th October: Railway police seized fake currency notes worth over 3 lakh rupees during a raid on a train in Assam’s Bongaigaon.

Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted the operation on the Kanchenjunga Express, which had just arrived at New Bongaigaon Station.

A substantial amount of fake currency, amounting to Rs 37 lakh 17 thousand, was discovered in one of the train’s compartments.

The authorities apprehended an individual named Sadiq Raza in connection with the counterfeit currency.

Raza has admitted to transporting the fake notes from Guwahati. He has been placed in police custody.
