Assam Ranks Among Top States in Citizen Grievance Resolution, Handles Over 7,400 Cases in July
Guwahati, August 10, 2024 — Assam has emerged as one of the top-performing states in India in addressing citizen grievances, resolving 7,430 cases in July, making it the second highest in the nation for that month. From January to July, the state successfully addressed a total of 30,572 cases, securing its position as the third highest in grievance redressal across the country.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared the achievement on social media platform ‘X’, expressing pride in the state’s continued performance in addressing public concerns. “I am happy to share that like previous months, in July also Assam has been one of the top states in grievance redressal of its citizens,” Sarma wrote.
Despite these achievements, 9,012 cases remain pending as of July, a figure that underscores the ongoing efforts required to address all grievances effectively. The government has made significant progress, but the pending cases indicate room for further improvement.
In a related development, Chief Minister Sarma also announced a major improvement in Assam’s credit deposit (CD) ratio. Over the past 3-4 years, the CD ratio has risen from 32 percent to 58 percent, reflecting increased financial activity and economic engagement in the state. Sarma described this surge as a “very significant achievement,” highlighting its importance as a key economic indicator that measures the balance between bank-issued credit and total deposits.
These milestones underscore Assam’s commitment to both economic growth and responsive governance, as the state continues to make strides in addressing the needs and concerns of its citizens.
