Guwahati: Assam had the highest number of COVID-19 deaths among all the Northeastern states, followed by Manipur and Meghalaya on Tuesday.
According to the Union Health Ministry, Assam has the most COVID-19 deaths (8,033) till Tuesday, followed by Manipur (2148) and Meghalaya (1619).
According to reports, there have been 938 fatalities in Tripura, 779 in Nagaland, 722 in Mizoram, 492 in Sikkim, and 296 in Arunachal Pradesh.
The Union Home Ministry reports that 23 more deaths were reported on Tuesday, bringing the total number of fatalities across India to 5, 28,031.
India has vaccinated approximately 213.88 crore (2, 13, 88, 70,991) people against COVID-19.
However, more than 14 lakh (14, 96,290) vaccination doses had been given up till Tuesday at 7 pm. The daily vaccination number is expected to rise with the compilation of the final reports for the day by late tonight.
