Assam: Retired Army Killed in Wild Elephant Attack in Goalpara

Guwahati, 18th November: Amid growing concern about man-animal conflict, a retired army was killed by wild elephant in Assam’s Goalpara district on November 18.

The incident took place at Dahikta Pohlanpara under Mornoi police station under Goalpara district.

The retired ex-serviceman identified as Nareshwar Rabha (60) was brutally trampled by wild elephants while he was cutting rubber in a garden.

The incident occurred around 5 am when Nareshwar Rabha left home on a bicycle to work in the garden. Wild elephants attacked him during his routine, resulting in a fatal confrontation.

The news of Nareshwar Rabha’s death has sent shockwaves through the entire area, highlighting the ongoing human-wildlife conflict and the urgent need for measures to safeguard local residents.
