Assam: Rhino Charges at Student Group During Manas National Park Safari

Guwahati: A group of students on an educational safari in the Bansbari forest range of Manas National Park experienced a frightening encounter earlier today, April 5th, when a wild rhinoceros exhibited aggressive behavior and charged at their vehicle.

The students, visiting from Guwahati as part of a school excursion, were traversing the park when the rhino unexpectedly advanced towards their safari vehicle. The large animal pursued the group for a significant period, causing considerable alarm among the young visitors and accompanying staff members.

Fortunately, the swift thinking and skillful driving of the safari vehicle operator allowed for a successful escape, ensuring the safety of all the students on board. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

This latest event contributes to a concerning trend of increased rhino aggression within the national park in recent times, prompting worries regarding the security of tourists and highlighting the urgency for more robust surveillance and precautionary measures within the protected area.
