Guwahati, 15th April: In a harrowing encounter at Manas National Park, a dramatic incident unfolded on April 15 as a rhino charged at a tourist vehicle in the Banhbari range of the park. The formidable beast, of considerable size, pursued the vehicle from the front, captured in a video that shows the rhino’s aggressive charge towards the tourists.
Thanks to the quick reflexes and skilled driving of the vehicle’s operator, the tourists narrowly escaped the rhino’s aggressive pursuit. However, this isn’t the first instance of a rhino exhibiting such behavior in the park, highlighting the unpredictable nature of wildlife encounters.
Tragedy struck Bogiarani village in Dergaon amidst Rongali Bihu celebrations when a rhino attacked a crowd, resulting in one fatality and another individual sustaining injuries. The incident occurred during the early hours of Gorubihu, sending shockwaves through the community as the enraged rhino charged towards the unsuspecting crowd, instilling widespread fear in neighboring communities such as Bogariani and Hansowa.
The occurrence has significantly heightened tension in the area, underscoring the importance of wildlife safety measures and community awareness to mitigate such incidents in the future.
