Assam Rifles and Customs Force Seize and Destroy Rs 2.13 Crore Worth of Marijuana in Tripura

Agartala: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, a joint operation by Assam Rifles and the Customs Preventive Force resulted in the seizure and destruction of marijuana worth ₹2.13 crore in Tripura’s Sepahijala district.

Acting on intelligence inputs, security forces raided the Dhanirampur area late on February 6, where they confiscated marijuana valued at ₹1.03 crore and uprooted 28,500 saplings worth ₹1.1 crore.

Authorities described the operation as a significant blow to regional drug trafficking networks, emphasizing ongoing efforts to combat the illicit trade. The seized contraband has been handed over for legal proceedings, and security forces have vowed to intensify their anti-drug operations across the state.
