Assam Rifles Apprehends Youth Allegedly En Route to Join ULFA-I, Three Linkmen Arrested

Guwahati, 4th May: In a recent development, a youth identified as Munindra Das Narayan from Udoipur Merapani village in Golaghat district of Assam was apprehended by Assam Rifles troopers stationed in Nagaland. The incident took place on May 3 in Mon district, Nagaland, following credible information received by the Assam Rifles.

According to reports, the youth was reportedly en route to join the banned militant organization United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA-I). Following his apprehension, he was handed over to the police in Charaideo district, Assam, for further legal proceedings.

In a separate case, three individuals associated with ULFA(I) have been apprehended in Sonari. They are accused of providing funds to ULFA (SA). The arrested individuals have been identified as Sanjay Dey, Sujit Dey, and Tazawang Konyak. It has been reported that Sanjay Dey and Sujit Dey are father and son, respectively.

These developments highlight the continued efforts by security forces to combat militant activities and maintain peace and stability in the region.
