Assam Rifles Deals Major Blow to Drug Trafficking in Cachar
Guwahati, 11th October: In a significant victory in the battle against narcotics, the Assam Rifles, led by Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), conducted a successful joint operation with Cachar police, resulting in the recovery of 20,000 WY tablets valued at approximately Rs 1 crore. This operation took place in the Lakhipur sub-division of Assam’s Cachar district on October 10, and it led to the apprehension of one drug peddler at the scene by the security forces.
The confiscated drugs and the detained individual have been handed over to the Assam Police for further legal actions. This operation has dealt a significant blow to the drug-related insurgency in the region and has furthered the mission of safeguarding the youth from falling into the clutches of the drug menace.
