Assam Rifles & Mizoram Police Seized Methamphetamine Tablets in Aizawl

Guwahati: In the ongoing war against drugs, Assam Rifles and Mizoram police recovered 14,600 tablets of methamphetamine in Aizawl.

According to reports, the recovered methamphetamine tablets were worth Rs 3 crore.

Reportedly, a drug dealer was arrested by the Mizoram police for possessing the illegal substances.

After getting a tip, police from the Aizawl special narcotics squad police station and soldiers from the Assam Rifles began a joint operation in the Falkland Veng area of Aizawl, Mizoram.

According to Mizoram police, the offender was charged under the appropriate provisions of the Narcotics, Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

According to the Mizoram police, additional research into forward or backward linking is ongoing.

According to Assam Rifles official, 499 bags of smuggled Burmese areca nuts worth Rs 2.79 crore were recovered on Saturday and Sunday in the Champhai area of Mizoram near the Myanmar border.
