Assam Rifles’ National Integration Tour Inspires Manipur Students in Nagaland
Imphal: As part of the National Integration Tour (NIT) under Operation Sadbhavana, students from various schools in Tengnoupal District, Manipur, visited Raj Bhavan, Kohima, on March 13 for an insightful interaction with Nagaland Governor La Ganesan.
The tour, organized by Assam Rifles (South), aimed to foster national unity and broaden students’ cultural perspectives.
During the discussion, Governor La Ganesan highlighted India’s rich cultural diversity, emphasizing the harmonious coexistence of different food habits, attire, and traditions across the country. He urged the students to embrace and appreciate the nation’s linguistic and cultural heritage while reinforcing the idea that, despite regional differences, all citizens are united under one national identity.
The Governor further underscored hospitality as a core Indian value and reminded the students that while they belong to diverse communities in Manipur, they should always take pride in their identity as Indians. His words aimed to instill a sense of patriotism and a deeper understanding of national integration.
The students also shared their experiences from the tour, reflecting on their exposure to different parts of the country and the valuable insights gained. Major Jagmininder Singh Khalsa, the Officer-in-Charge of the National Integration Tour, welcomed the students and provided a comprehensive overview of the initiative, emphasizing its role in strengthening national harmony.
The visit to Raj Bhavan marked a significant moment in the students’ journey, offering them an opportunity to interact with national leaders and gain a broader understanding of India’s diverse yet united fabric.
